Safety tips
- Never leave a candle burning unattended.
- Keep away from children and pets when lit.
- Never place candle near objects that can catch fire.
- Do not touch glass container while the candle is lit. Let
the glass container cool and any melted wax harden, after extinguishing
the flame, before attempting to touch or handle the candle.
- Keep wax pool free of debris including wick trimmings and
matches.
| The most important thing to do when burning
candles is to always keep wick trimmed. Indah Lilin scented
candles burn cleaner, longer and will disperse the scent best
if the wick is between ¼" to ½". Make sure to trim the wick
every time before you burn the candle. If the wick is longer
than ½", the heat from the flame will cause faster evaporation
of the scent. It's best to keep the wick between ¼" to ½". |

Our scented candles perform at their peak when allowed to
burn a minimum of 2 hours at a time. The scent is best dispersed
when the wax melts to form a ½" to 1" pool. |
How to trim your wick after burning your scented candle. After
your candle has cooled and the melted wax has hardened, it is
safe to trim the wick. Notice in the first image the length of
the wick. It's too long and needs to be trimmed.

FAQs
My candle is leaving wax on the sides of the container
as it burns. Why?
This generally occurs when the candle isn’t allowed to form
a uniform pool of melted wax. “Tunneling” may occur
if the candle is lit and then extinguished before the pool of
sufficient wax pool is created.
Check the wick length. If the wick is longer than ½ inch,
it’s time to trim. Do not attempt to trim the wick while
the candle is lit. Extinguish the flame, trim the wick and relight.
It is best to check and/or trim the wick between ¼"
to ½" every time before you light your candle. It
is also important burn your candle away from any drafts. Drafts
can cause the flame to burn hotter, thus causing soot to appear.
What causes my wick to “mushroom”?
“Mushrooming” is carbon build up and is normal for
scented candles. Indah Lilin uses self-trimming 100% cotton wicks
that help reduce the mushroom effect, however no wick is able
to eliminate the mushroom effect completely. This makes it essential
that you always trim your wick to ½ inch.
Recycling is important to me. Can I reuse the container
after I have finished burning
the candle?
Yes, please do! Recycling is important to Indah Lilin as well.
You should remove any remaining wax from the bottom of the container.
There are a couple options to accomplish this.
Please be careful while removing
the remaining wax, whichever method you choose.
1) Use a butter knife and scrape around the edge of the remaining
wax until you have removed it all. Or,
2) Melt it by placing the container in your oven at 175 degrees
until the remaining wax has melted. Carefully remove the container
from your oven; it will be hot. Pour melted wax
out, garbage can is recommended, do not pour
the melted wax down your sink. **Do not place
container in the microwave as the wick is secured to the glass
container with a small metal tab.

With the remaining wax out of the container, soak the container
in warm soapy water for at least 10 minutes. The metal wick tab
it secured with an adhesive that should be easily removed after
soaking. If after 10 minutes, the wick tab is not loose, soak
longer. Wash as you would any other glass. Now you can reuse the
container as you wish.
